Smitha, Akshay, Rhea, (any other non commenting readers).... Anyone game?

Incidentally, that could also prove the power of virtual friendship!

At 26/11/04 12:14 am, Blogger Kathak - The Story Teller! said...

And then we could extend the proof to other kinds of friendship (for want of a better word.... give me a proper word someone)

Whats up people, its just 9 comments... okay now 10! Come on, pull those socks up and get to work !

Akshay, Dan was never meant to be in all this. Anyway, i guess she was studying, we had an exam today, and not everyone risks exams like I do. Go to the exam hall, the bell rings the question papers are being distributed and you have no idea of whats going to happen. The heart beat goes on getting faster and faster, the adrenaline is flowing, you're at the edge of your seat, the kind of on-the-edge feeling like when Schumacher and Hakkinen were wheel to wheel, this guy takes the other on the inside then the other gets the outside line and on and on, corners after corner... and then...................!

Its not my fault that I don't study... its all Bernie and Mad Max who are fault...

Oops.. where was I, and where am I?

OK, PPL, here I am! Back after my 1st paper. So we're are here to prove the power of friendship! And this is a game?!! Friendship only in a game... and not in real life? (Well, don't pay much attention, I generally believe that there used to be something called friendship, which doesn't exist nowadays.)
Incidentally, those Bach's words were what I'd written nicely on farewell notes and given them to my classmates (yes, I do write farewell notes) while leaving school after the 10th. And being a hard core sentimentalist, I'd literally cried while giving that. And then the same day, while going home, I'd found one of those notes lying on the floor and someone had stamped upon it. . .
Conclusion: No one really cares, and even if they do, they don't like to admit it.
Well anyways, 100 comments would be really something! Kathak, what's with making me an international star? Hey, you were really looking cute today. Was too preoccupied with AVE to tell you. : )
Hey Sudhakar, welcome to my blog! (and thanx!) I read those comments on Pearl's blog about "The Village". And a hearty "Einverstanden!" The Village is definitely good, and all those who haven't seen it, have really missed something... Sr, had you seen Signs?
Smitha, now u've got to post many pics on your blog. Am waiting. :P
Akshay, (and) Dan is in all this after all. Just a bit busy with my studies. Hey K, of course I'm going to be in all this. Not gonna miss it!
Looking forward to all your comments. . .
Hey, let's all write the comment no. on top.

Dan, At last someone i can talk movies with! I too love Signs & Village...much on this later!
Where are Pearl & Rhea?

At 30/11/04 10:00 pm, Blogger Pearl said...

Bhaiyya who are you asking? ask me. I'll tell you.

So is K a F1 freak?

Lemme see... she lives in F1 websites... The PC used to be all plastered with F1, thankfully for the last two years she's given the PC (and ME ME ME) a good break... I love it when she's too busy to catch a race. Why? Because otherwise the TV is on so loud that you need earplugs to hear the TV at a seemingly normal volume. Why? Because she wants to hear the engines. Engines? Why would someone want to hear them? You think the cars are in our bedroom!

What else... she's crazy! Don't get her started... don't get her started... talk to me, I'll put her off... don't involve her.... DON'T

Rhea tum kidhar ho janeman? Everyone's looking for you babes.

Danny, I don't have Dhake. So you'll have to tell me what this page 3 is. Post it, and make that soon

At 1/12/04 2:03 am, Blogger Daneshia said...

Hmm, shall. Dhake feels that TV is the best thing in the world!!! And he has written almost 1 whole Dhake-page about how TV is nice. And I absolutely disagree with his views, anyone would.
Yeah, I'll write about it, but don't know when. Feeling too lazy to write...

Dan, i agree with Dhake(whoever that is), TV is a wonderful thing! Maybe not THE best thing in the world.
K, i too like to watch F1 with the volume high! But im not a freak, as in i dont feel bad when i miss it.

I may not be qualified enough to state this, but I think Dhake writes crap. It doesn't help that I've never read the text book. I think even Gulati doesn't write anything worth reading... So I don't read it! I don't even like reading Gupta.... I coloured the microphone directivity patterns in Gupta with my highlighters, in 5 different colours......... !

But authors of book fret not. I will read some of you. I will read Kulkarni, or maybe Barapte. Yeah... that I will do. and then I will ace the exams. Just 4 papers more, and then I will be 7/8th an engineer. That makes me enginee.... thats an engine with an additional e. Like I was saying after the 6th sem... I'm now an engine, give me a year and I shall be an engineer!! lol!!

"Navina", who likes "maths", ask K how much I love seeing movies. Esp. at the beginning of the semester. Did you see I, Robot? And have you read the book by Isaac Asimov? Loved that movie.

Navina, Danny loves movies. She survives on them. She could go without sleep one night, but if you don't give her the daily dose of movies she'll go mad. She's been known to put up an acrobatic show in the middle of the road because she was denied her daiy quota of movies. I swear - she did go all crazy in the middle of the road!

'Leap R', it seems Kathak doesn't know about Jimmy Jet and his TV set. K, better watch out, or else you'll become a racer car one day! Like Jimmy became a TV set. :P
'Crow (Kak) Hat', yes I do remember PMH and GGP!!!!!! And yes, I do know Jo. Par tum Jo ke Jo ko jaanti ho kya? And I went all crazy in the middle of the road, because I wasn't allowed to see a movie? Pray tell me, when did this happen? And how come I don't know abt it myself?
'Yak Ash', I haven't read the Foundation Series. I hope to read Asimov's books in the coming vacation. (of 12 days!)
Has anybody seen the movie "Raghu Romeo"? Wonderful movie. Anyone amongst you a Vijay Raaz fan?
And to complete the list of anagrams, 'UK Sarhad', why aren't you commenting here?

What did he do?

That was only half the truth. You didn't go crazy because you didn't get to see a movie, but because of a spider. But the truth was you went crazy!

See, I'm astory teller, and its my job to speak half truths. If I was a lawyer, I could speak no truths. Actually, I can do that even now, and call it fiction, or a Times Of India news report!

Dan.. Regarding the movie "I, Robot". I didn't see anything spl. with it. It failed to impress me or shud I say I failed to admire it?

Yes, i have seen the movie I, Robot. But have not read the novel. Loved it (maybe bcos i liked the lead actress)
K, "fiction or a Times Of India news report"....too good! from when u r into analogies that are not technical!
Sudha, its okay if u fail to have admired the movie. Its sufficient if u admire the girl in the next cubicle and let her know about it!!

Crow hat, there was this poem I had in my Eng txtbk - Jimmy Jet and his TV set. It was abt a small boy Jimmy Jet, who watched TV so much that he became a TV set himself! I'll post the poem on the blog if I can find it now. And Jimmy didn't do all that dissection of the TV, he was just a small boy, and he hadn't studied AVE!
UK Sarhad, if you've figured out who you are, tell K!
Smitha, glad to be of service. Navina, do you really love maths? And yes, the I, Robot actress was good.
Sudh, guess everybody's tastes are different. And yes, do follow Smitha's advice. And tell us what happened. All the best! ;-D

Smitha I'm here.
Dan I'm here
K I'm here
Sorry for the long sudden absence. One word explaination : WORK
No time for longer exps, maybe when i'm back for good, but couldn't resist the friendship comments, so dropped in to say hi to all of you!

Firstly, Kathak dearie, I wonder where you got such rotten manners from. Goto comment #11, if you notice Dan said you were looking cute or words to that effect. And then you expect people to shower you with compliments....!

Dan, I saw Raghu Romeo, the very day you guys were seeing Hyderabad Blues -2 / Lakshya (can't recall), a afternoon show that too. Like I was telling K, chances are we could have bumped into each other! The movie was really funny and I went insane laughing! I'm not particularly a Vijay Raaz fan, but he's funny sort of guy, the perfect Raghu!

Sudhakar, take a deep breath and I'm sure you can read K's comments without tearing your hair or clothes. And then count till 100. LIke she said, she's crazy, but she doesn't bite. I cuold fill up this comment admonishing her for a lot of things i've been seeing till now, but i guess its not a good idea to wash your dirty linen in public!

Smitha, too much work? We're in the same boat, and I can empathise with you. Its a good 6:05 p.m India time, and I last saw my bed when i left it yesterday early morning at 5:00. That makes it 37 hours, and still counting. Atleast I don't write code. So if something doesn't work its not some silly ';' you left out somewhere, or some ',' or '.' and you got to go over millions of lines of code... or whatever punctuation marks you guys use in coding.

And btw Akshay, I read the foundation series.

And Dan, Ive read Jimmy Jet too! Actually, read it out to my neice last month, and thats where I came across him!

Cheers,
Rhea

Welcome to my blog, "Hare", and welcome to the friendship comments! (tho' hardly any comments are about friendship)
Kathak, do you now believe that Raghu Romeo was really good? Rhea, she made me see Lakshya instead of Raghu Romeo! K, you remember those 2 days - go to college, just 5 / 6 have turned up, convince the professors not to take any lectures, go to the library and go thru' the movie schedule given in the newspaper (or go thru' the copy I got from home!!), then rush to the theatre, and watch the movie. 2 days in a row. And I desperately wanted to go on the 3rd day too... (All this at the beginning of the 7th sem, the final year and all...!!!)
Akshay, what's with the cats?
Now just 43 more. . .
Don't you think this is becoming like a tag board?

Smitha, you unproductive slog. And the time you *could* be productive you spend it chatting away to glory. I really think you should reimburse the company for lost productivity. Maybe I'll speak to *someone* about it. (I can't break the pack, so I couldn't name him... damn you and your pact!)

You know the amount of movies I watch, or the lack of them. Not like you, so I got to prioritise. You would anyway have seen it, with or without me!!

Oh... and thanks for the wishes Dan. (before my proxy mom goed about teaching me manners on a public forum once again)

But I'm still underground......

K, you still underground? You seem to have inspired others too, to go undergrnd. Why isn't anybody commenting?

Ppl, why don't you comment?
Why give Dan reason to lament?

K went underground and it seems she took some people with her! I escaped somehow. So here i am.
ALL THE BEST, to whomsoever is writing an exam... and for those who are not writing anything and everyone in the middle! (I don't like to be biased)
Dan, the Queen of Granmaa(oops, i meant Anagram), what does `UK sarhad` mean?

At 8/12/04 9:35 am, Blogger Kathak - The Story Teller! said...

Thanks Smitha. I need those wishes, like a fish needs the water, like the poet needs the pain and such other similar analogies!

UK Sarhad, is the border of the United Kingdom... sheesh Smitha, you couldn't understand that??? This of course makes me smarter than you, and I suddenly feel really happy not being the dumbest one around!

At 8/12/04 10:54 am, Blogger S m i t h a said...

We people from the south of india are blissfully ignorant of the Hindi language. We consider anything other than the `world's oldest language in use (tamil)` as mere vocal-sounds from lesser people!!
Sarhad means Border? Thanks Dan, for adding to my vocabulary! And you are definetely The Smartest person *here*...even in your `Day of Nadir` (i meant, `Diary of Dan`)

Thanx "Natasha N. Vim", O Emperor of RAM GAAN! (Ram is the well known Hindu deity and Gaan means singing) For the best wishes and for the title you've conferred upon me!
Day of Nadir... too good Smitha, you are excellent! People, you heard it, I'm the smartest...
As Kathak has already explained, "UK Sarhad" is no other than apunka Sudhakar! :P
And to all the rest, be good little boys and girls like Smitha and K, and keep the comments coming.
K, have you seen Days of Thunder? (I guess that's the name)
CONGRATULATIONS to all of us for reaching 75...

At 8/12/04 2:40 pm, Blogger Sudhakar said...

Natasha N. Vim.... U r getting too many anagrams on ur name.
Day of Nadir.. Congrats to u too for hitting 75 N.O...

Danny, I never knew UK Sarhad was Sudhakar... I always thought it had something to do with the International Border.... <shakes her head in disbelief>

And, I haven't seen days of thunder

And we crossed 75! Yippeeeeeee!!
Congratulations one and all!

I thought comment#73 was from Dan & thats why my reply is directed to her in the next comment! I blame it on work...Work got to me!
Dan, quote "girls like Smitha" unquote. Why? What did i do?
Yes, i have seen Days of Thunder, like umpteen times! I like the scene when Cruise explains the slingshot pass to Kidman on her thighs! Is it the same Days of Thunder u r talking about? What is the connection?

At 8/12/04 11:45 pm, Blogger Daneshia said...

Smitha, yes, it's the same Days of Thunder. I remembered it becoz of the F1 racing talk, a few comments back. Do you remember how Cruise and the other guy start racing in their wheelchairs, in the hospital? That was really funny, well maybe, not funny, but I kind of liked that movie. And well, I like Cruise.
Ok, i said boys and girls, like Smitha and K, (in that order), and I guess everybody here knows that Smitha is a boy and K is a girl! I guess you are really working too much, that's why you are misunderstanding everything.

There's some nasty business going on here. I smell a rat, a big one at that!

Hello everyone, K is smelling rats.... you guys washed your socks lately?
K, What is smelly? My nasal passage is blocked by Work.
Dan, yes it is a funny scene. And you would never guess what my friends used called me in college.

At 9/12/04 1:16 pm, Blogger Daneshia said...

Ok, Smitha, tell me, what did ur frnds call u in college?
K, what's nasty here?

At 9/12/04 3:46 pm, Blogger Kathak - The Story Teller! said...

Danny, I don't know whats the nasty business going on in here... but there is something sinster going on, thats all I can say at this point in time. Maybe we need Agent R to solve the mystery! Or we could ask Agent Smith to fill in for her. What do you think?

At 11/12/04 11:16 am, Blogger S m i t h a said...

I guess Dan, K & co must be off to their exams! And thats why the comment count is stuck at 83. Lets give it one more final push and then we should be *there*. So lets go for it already!
Dan, you could have made a guess at least. My friends called me `Cruise`...now guess why?

At 11/12/04 6:33 pm, Blogger Daneshia said...

of course smitha, i guessed it right, but felt obliged to ask you. didn't want you to feel bad... :P
ok, 2nd paper over, now on 14th - rmt!!!

At 12/12/04 10:07 am, Blogger Kathak - The Story Teller! said...

Yup... the comment count is stuck, then at 83, now at 85. This one makes it 86! We've come a long way since we started out.

No one wanted to discuss Akshay's cats tho'! Maybe he can put up a post about the cats, and their multiple lives!

The movies and anagrams got up past the 75 mark... and lurking around the comment section got us upto 86. We got a target people, we got to hit 100! And as Smitha said, we're almost there.....!

At 12/12/04 10:09 am, Blogger Kathak - The Story Teller! said...

Alright, that was one of the most non motivating motivational posts! Sheesh... !

Yeah, and Dan, uptil now, (7 sems) there were just 2 subjects that really needed us to study - EME and RMT. EME we scaped through, actually I figured if i could get 25, the university would do the rest for me but thats history! RMT is NOW, and I think I'm going to be screwed and won't enjoy a minute of it!

At 13/12/04 10:44 am, Blogger Sudhakar said...

EME and RMT? Plz expand these abbr.

At 13/12/04 11:39 am, Blogger Kathak - The Story Teller! said...

EME: Electro-Magnetic Engineering
RMT: Radiation and Microwave Techniques

At 13/12/04 3:35 pm, Blogger Sudhakar said...

Both EME & RMT sound cool to me. But exactly r those subjects content-wise, best/better/good/bad/worse/worst?
RMT, the name of the paper suggests more of microwave oven than telecom :)

At 13/12/04 8:24 pm, Blogger S m i t h a said...

People i have to warn you, EME & RMT are not my cup of tea. Movies & anagrams, now, they are my area of expertise! Just chatting with Sudha about T2-Judgement day, which i must have seen it like n times, where n>100!

At 14/12/04 10:25 am, Blogger Sudhakar said...

Smitha, u mean factorial(100) ?? wow!!

Hmm, EME and RMT....... Hey, you forgot ApMech!!! And AppSci ;-D
Anyways, now it's over, and we have TM (!!!!!!!!) and DSP to look forward to....
For Sudh: TM: Telematics, DSP: Digital signal processing. Ok, EME was purely mathematical (you mathematicians interested? You and Smitha) RMT was interesting, good. K, the practs used to be fun na? Hey Sudh, we actually had 1 q on microwave ovens today in the paper!
Ok, K, all the best for TM!

At 14/12/04 11:21 pm, Blogger Kathak - The Story Teller! said...

Danny, I actually likes ApMech. The entire statics was summed up in three concepts (or equations if you like) and similarly for the dynamics. Actully, they dynamics and the rquations in dynamics was a tad more complicated than statics (!), but I liked them none the less!

ApSci, you that was where you needed to figure out what to study. LIke for ApSci-1, you ignore the physics and fir ApSci-2, you ignore the chemistry!!!!!

At 14/12/04 11:23 pm, Blogger Kathak - The Story Teller! said...

Danny likes RMT, I think it needs to die a natural death! Or if it can't, kill the subject! I'm still trying to figure out what I wrote today afternoon!

Yeah, and Sudhakar you were remembered after the paper, courtesy the microwave oven question!

And Dan, all the best for TM, and for DSP!

At 15/12/04 10:59 am, Blogger Sudhakar said...

All the best to Dan & K for the remaining papers.

Thank Sudhakar... I think this way, we'll reach 100 !!
1. Dan wishes me and her
2. I thank her and wish her
3. You wish me and dan
4. We thank you

!!!!!!!!

LOL. I don't want to waste this precious few comments spaces b4 100. I found all ur courses are very different from what I heard in our college. I never even heard of Telematics, though thats the field I am working on. What exactly do u have in that paper? What I know about Telematics is more of automobile's micro-controllers and communication devices with external world.

This is like watching Ganguly bat. He comes very fast till the nineties and then takes an eternity to reach hundred.
Nobody wants to be the one who hits the century? Okay, let me. This is 99 is guess.

And here comes the 100.
Cheers/applause all around!
The Power of Friendship indeed!!

At 17/12/04 7:55 am, Blogger Kathak - The Story Teller! said...

Sudhakar, what we have in Telematics is a big khichdi! Its supposed to be mainly Telecommunication Switching Systems and Networks, but its got a little of that, then a litle of data communication (tho' I'm still trying to locate the data communication in the text) and a little of Mobile Communication, the kind of matter you'll find on howstuffworks!

As far as the courses being different from what you've heard, they could be different and are in my opinion totally redundant. They could compile all of it into 2 years, if they really decide to! Believe me when I say, our degree at the end of 4 years is not going to be worth even the paper its printed on!

At 17/12/04 7:56 am, Blogger Kathak - The Story Teller! said...

Smitha, yayyyyyy!
And congratulations and all that what goes with the congratulations to all of us here!

100 and still counting :-)
