ZERO DEGREES KELVIN

"Everything is relative in this world. Nothing is absolute, except maybe zero degrees kelvin." This is what I said in the class today, and then I realised how true it is.
One might feel one is very fat, but then one is bound to find someone fatter than oneself. And then one will be called thin! We always feel our life is full of miseries, but then there's always someone who has reason to be sadder than us. And do you remember that story about Birbal and Akbar, the one about two lines? How drawing a bigger line next to it made a big line small?
So never say you are smart, intelligent, and good. You'll definitely meet someone smarter, more intelligent and better than you. And also don't say you are very bad and wicked. You'll always find someone more wicked and worse compared to you.
So never lose heart. And if everything is relative, what do you measure yourself against? Well, do everything in comparison with yourself. We have to compete with ourselves! And beat ourselves!
So, everything is relative, including time, except -273` C!

The only absolute is `c`, *the velocity of light in vacuum* and not zero degree Kelvin.
Kelvin is a scale of measure whereas `c` is a constant. So 0 deg K is also relative only!

>>>do everything in comparison with yourself.
Doesnt make any sense to me. But maybe it is not supposed to. If it makes sense to u, that is enough, isnt it?

Smitha,
0 degrees kelvin, in spite of being a scale of measurement, is the point where it is believed that molecular motion would stop, and you can't get any colder than that. So wouldn't that in itself be an absolute?

It is *only believed* that molecular motion would stop at that point. I dont think we/humans have ever acheived 0 deg Kelvin. Im a person with as little faith as there can be. But it is proved that `c` can never be changed by anything.
K, I not upto an argument. Im not an expert at both physics and talking bullshit. And im not keen on improving them as well. So, if u insist, i'll yield and even accept that u painted Mona Lisa.
And K, why a proxy? I thought those pearls were spoken by Dan!

I'm not in for an arguement either, nor are there any hidden reasons for the proxy. I was just generally curious, and put up the question. Thought you may come up with somethign interesting for an answer. Sorry yaar, bachpan ki aadat hai, I ask too many questions.
(Dan, love, Bi... will all vouch for that!)

Cheers,
K
